Ross graduated from the Otago University, School of Dentistry in 1984 and began working in Linwood the following year.

Ross maintains an emphasis on preventative dentistry; seeing patients on a regular basis so that any disease processes can be picked up at an early stage and treating them with materials, methods or simply advice that assist in maintaining good standards of oral health, at a reasonable price.

Outside of dentistry, Ross enjoys spending time with his wife, Helen and their three adult children (no grandchildren, as yet). He is passionate about sport in general, but in particular, cricket, which he has both played and coached over the years, and rugby.
Having lived in Christchurch since 1969, he is a 'one eyed Cantabrian' in the true sense of the word.

When time permits, he also enjoys cooking, gardening and trying his hand at home-handyman projects. Since the age of nine, he has also maintained an interest in collecting the stamps of Commonwealth nations.
